Don't Forget Your Travel DocumentNon-United States citizens who want to travel insurance outside the United States as a part of flight deals may require permission to return to the country after traveling abroad.Travel documents which are provided can be protected by passport cover those who want to travel but who cannot get a passport from their country of origin. The law governing the regulations comes from the Immigration and Nationality Act, which describes the documents necessary to admit non-U.S. citizens and control their travel. Immigrants without the necessary travel documents will be denied entry to the U.S. Forms Can Be DownloadedNon-citizens must file U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. It must have supporting documentation, applicable fees and photos. You can download U.S. immigration forms from the USCIS website. The site features all immigration forms to download.If you are a permanent resident or conditional resident of the U.S. you must attach a copy of the front and back of Form I-551, the alien registration receipt card, a copy of the biographical pages of your passport and the passport visa page that shows initial admission as a permanent resident. Other evidence that you are a permanent resident may be acceptable. Apply Before Leaving the U.S.Non-residents have to apply for the appropriate travel document before leaving the country. Failure to acquire proper documentation may cause re-entry to the U.S. to be prohibited. It could also lead to the denial of any other applications.You can check the status of your application by contacting the USCIS office to which you send your forms. Be prepared to provide staff with specific information concerning your application. Attach USCIS DocumentsAliens in the U.S. applying for an Advance Parole document must attach a copy of any document issued by USCIS showing his or her present status in the U.S. An explanation or other evidence supporting issuing an Advance Parole document should also be supplied.If an alien is basing eligibility for Advance Parole on a separate application for adjustment of status or asylum, a copy of that file receipt must be provided. Aliens traveling to Canada to apply for an immigrant visa must attach a copy of the consular appointment. If you are a refugee or asylee applying for a refugee travel document you must attach a copy of the document issued by USCIS showing your status and indicating the expiration date of that status.
